The Italian cypress at the corner of the lot. It's somewhat the worse for wear after last year's windstorm and a few earthquakes--but I find it rather endearingly scruffy, rather than perfect!

The wall fixture in my dining room--copper and stained glass crafted by James Mattson. The trees carry the theme from a Bachelder tile set into the fireplace. At one time, this house had a magnificent 150-year-old oak tree in the back--sadly, it came down in a storm in 2005.
