Looking around the house for something interesting "on the floor" was pretty futile. But the front porch? Ah... dappled light, camellia and liquidambar leaves, jacaranda blossoms. Perfect!

My favorite time of day--early in the morning, when I've gotten myself down to the coffeemaker, and the day is still cool and fresh and full of possibility.
The rival time, for me, is in the evening when I can pour a glass of wine and forget all the "stuff" the day brought.

Photo A Day, July 1
The prompt for today was "self portrait." Now, I happen to not like the way I look, in fact I'm quite chicken about having my picture taken. So this was a hard one for me to do. Wound up sitting on the bed in the guest room with the rooster lamp and just snapping it. Came out nice and blurry, just the way I like it!
